Client Brief
Hollins Chambers is an iconic Manchester building, an historic gen in the heart of Manchester’s commercial district, dating back to 1925.
Our client wanted to revive the existing office building into both CAT A and CAT B office spaces, with a striking reception area for its tenants to enjoy.
Objective
Appointed by Taylor Estates to reimagine and redesign this much-loved historical building into a premium commercial office destination.
Approach
With the highly competitive Manchester market, being iconic and offering something unique would be key to the refurbishment’s success.
We decided that being sympathetic to the building’s history was pivotal to the CAT B scheme. Taking the ‘roaring twenties’ inspiration of Jazz, Gatsby and all the glamour surrounding the golden era, we chose a rich colour palette of greens, blues and golds. Artwork and bric-a-brac were key in bringing the scheme to life, along with key flamboyant furniture pieces to achieve the full effect.
Outcome
The office destination now offers 5 refurbished floors along with website and new branding that harmonises with the interior design.
The client is delighted with the design results with interest from several tenants already looking to take up the space. We look forward to seeing this scheme prosper and be a successful investment for our client long into the future.
